The weather was hot but a solid turnout from kids of all ages as 1000′s descended upon the Udvar Hazy annex of the Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport. GSAA members were out in full force to assist our friends at the Hobby Hangar with the static display demo showcasing several giant scale airplanes flown by our own members.

The event was held from 10am to 3pm and featured many civilian and military full scale aircraft. This ranged from small Cessna 170′s all the way up to a Air Force C-17. Pics added to the Gallery. See you all next year!

It was a cloudy, humid and dark day but that didn’t stop the festivities at the newly anointed R/C Flying Park in Culpeper, Va. Lenn Park is now the home of the Culpeper Barnstormers and the opening day ceremonies went off even th0ugh the skies tried otherwise. The day was filled with various types of aircraft with several clubs in attendance including our very own GSAA members who brought their flotilla of aircraft to impress the attendee’s.

There was an impromptu formation flying session between Kevin and Andrew who were both flying DLE-111 powered Yak’s. The high speed inverted runs and hammerheads in unison made for some interesting sights as they both performed well. Thanks to the hosts for their hospitality including the members of the local community who promoted and endorsed the event. Until next time!
